Brooklyn Book Festival - Manuals for Living
How does one go looking for the good life? What practices, rituals, philosophical or aesthetic perspectives will open our eyes to the paths we seek? Unitarian Universalist Ana Levy-Lyons offers a fresh reinterpretation of the Ten Commandments; poet Michael Robbins suggests the high-brow/low-brow mixture of poetry and pop music; lawyer Justin Jamail draws upon the New York School poets and medievalist Jacqueline de Weever captures something paradoxically ephemeral and pragmatic in images of the life of flora. Moderated by the Rev. John E. Denaro.
The Brooklyn Book Festival is the largest free literary event in New York City, presenting an array of national and international literary stars and emerging authors. One of America’s premier book festivals, this hip, smart diverse gathering attracts thousands of book lovers of all ages to enjoy authors and the festival’s lively literary marketplace.
